MIX (Mason Innovation Exchange)

Maker & Collaboration space, run by George Mason University students

We are a multidisciplinary community of makers, innovators, artists, and engineers.

Our Mission
To empower students, graduate and undergraduate, by exposing them to real-world challenges and problem-solving opportunities. To provide a central place on campus for students and faculty from all schools and disciplines to meet, socialize, learn, and build.

What We Do
Programs encourage multi-disciplinary collaboration across all of Mason’s schools and degree programs (e.g. engineering, science, business, liberal arts). It’s the place at Mason where groups can come together to develop ideas, research problems, craft solutions, and start companies.

Robotics at Mason

At Mason Engineering, students teach robots how to move and sense their surroundings, and use teamwork to accomplish tasks.

Making this happen requires knowledge of mechanical engineering, with the building of the body and movement; bioengineering, with vision and sensing; and computer engineering and computer science for processing, control, and learning.

Robots will go where people can't, inspecting bridges, venturing into faltering nuclear power plants, and exploring space. Be part of a robotics and artificial intelligence team that builds the next step in human technology.
